Archiving Overview
In EdReady, if you have sufficient permissions, you can archive scopes, goals, administrative user accounts, and student accounts. Archiving an object will deactivate it and remove if from the primary display table for that object. Archiving an object will not delete it, and it can be restored and reactivated at any time by another user with sufficient permissions.
Archiving EdReady Objects
There are two ways to archive an object in EdReady: 1) individually and 2) using a batch update process.
Archiving an Individual EdReady Object
To archive an object individually, go to Edit EdReady Version and choose the tab of the object you wish to archive (scopes, goals, admin users, students). Click the Archive link in the Actions column of the data table that contains the object you wish to archive. The object will be made inactive and removed from the main display table. The image below shows an example of archiving a student.
Batch Archiving Multiple EdReady Objects
To archive multiple EdReady objects at once, go to Edit EdReady Version and choose the tab of the objects you wish to archive (scopes, goals, admin users, students). Select the items you wish to archive by clicking the checkboxes in the left hand column. Then click the batch update icon near the top right of the data table.
In the popup window that appears, choose Change archive status in the dropdown menu. Select Yes and then click Update. The objects will be made inactive and removed from the main display table.
Restoring an Archived EdReady Object
You can restore and reactive any EdReady object (scope, goal, admin user account, student account) that has been previously archived. To restore an archived object, you will need to locate that object in the archive first, since they do not display in the primary list. Click the tab of the object you wish to restore (scope, goal, admin user, or student). Click the archive (folder) icon near the top right of the data table to view the list of archived objects.
You can use the column filters to help locate the item you wish to restore. Click on the Restore link in the Actions column. The item will be removed from the archived list and back to the main display table for those objects. Click the archive icon again to return to the main table. Please note that restoring an object will not automatically reactivate it. You must edit the object in the main display table and make it active again.
You can also use the batch update feature to restore multiple archived objects. From the archived list of objects, select the items you wish to archive by clicking the checkboxes in the left hand column. Then click the batch update icon near the top right of the data table.
In the popup window that appears, choose Change archive status in the dropdown menu. Select No and then click Update. The objects will be restored and moved back to the main display table. Please note that restoring an object will not automatically reactivate it. You must edit the object in the main display table and make it active again.
Reactivating an EdReady Object
To reactive a previously archived EdReady object after restoring it, do the following:
- Click on the Edit Version tab or button at the top of the page, then select the tab of the object you wish to reactivate (scopes, goals, admin users, students).
- Locate the object by using the column filters.
- Click on "Edit" in the Actions column.
- Activate the object (the option to activate the object will vary depending on the object type).
