Resources for this Scope

This article contains the following information:

Resources Overview

We have several collections of resources for your students available through EdReady, beyond NROC’s own math and English content. These additional resource collections come from the Hippocampus library and include Why U, the Art of Problem Solving, STEMbites, the Phoenix College Collection, additional items from Khan Academy, and others. (More details about these collections can be found here.)

How do I add resources?

While resources are available as options in EdReady, there is no global setting to enable and disable resources across Scopes. You must enable additional resources at the individual scope-level under a Scope's Resources tab.

Once you have determined which resources you want to make available to your students, those resources settings will be copied if you clone an existing Scope.

Unlike other Scopes settings, you may enable and disable resources for a Scope at any time, even if student data has been captured and other Scope features have been locked down.

To access the Resources settings for a Scope, click on the Resources tab. Two tables are displayed on the screen:
1. Included Resource Collections
2. Excluded Resource Collections

The Included Resource Collections table lists all of the included collection, with the default collection indicated in the left column. The default resource collection is the item that will open automatically for students when they click the Learn button for a particular topic in their study path. If other resources are available for that topic, students can choose to view them, but most students will study the default collection item first. You may change the default collection by clicking the respective radio button in the left column. You can set Topic-specific defaults at the bottom of the screen.

To add resource collections, click the Add link in the Actions column next to the collection you wish to add. That resource collection will then appear in the Included Resource Collections table.

Setting the Default Resource Collection

While an item from the Default Resource Collection will be pulled up as the initial resource for your students, you can specify an alternate default on a Topic-specific basis.

To change/ view the default Topic collection, select the Unit and Topic you want to edit.

A list of all the resources available for this topic will display below, with the current default resource’s title in bold & with the radio button in front of it selected.

To change the default resource, simply select the radio button for the item you want to be default for this topic and click the Save Default button. A message will appear on screen indicating that the change was made successfully.

After making a change to a Topic’s default, the Topic name will have a “*” at the end of the name to indicate it has been updated.

If you want to reset all the Topic-level changes you have made, click the Restore global default resource collection to all topics button.

You can see details about the resource collections available in EdReady in this help center article: The EdReady Resource Library.
