What is the difference between Scope of Expectations & Diagnostic Scope?

One of the most common questions we get is about understanding the Scope & Initial Diagnostic Scope for an assessment. At a high level:

  • Scope of Expectations is everything you want your students to study/ need to know in EdReady overall
  • Diagnostic Scope is a subset of the Scope of Expectations and is what you want the initial diagnostic test to cover

After students complete the initial test (& have a score), the Initial Diagnostic isn't used again... all other work (in their Study Path) will include everything in the Scope of Expectations.

The attached document provides a great visual guide to how the full set of material in EdReady can be delimited to make a Scope of Expectations & Diagnostic Scope
