What is the difference between the topic text links and the open textbooks?

Some of the primary differences between the “open textbook” PDF files and the HTML “texts” are:

HTML texts  - include interactive features

  • organized by individual topic
  • include pop-up glossary terms
  • include show/hide problems
  • includes manipulatives

Open textbook PDFs - static, no interaction

  • organized by unit
  • include a Table of Contents at the beginning
  • include objective identification throughout the content
  • includes a ‘unit recap’ and glossary at the end of each unit
  • the show/hide problems are identified as ‘self check’ with the answers at the end of each topic
